The role
We are looking for a Senior Testing Engineer to join our team to work on Cypress automated-related projects. You’ll be responsible for testing software that many people around the world will see.
You have the opportunity to invest in processes that will improve quality and increase the team’s proficiency, and enhance the quality of software components.
As a senior engineer on our team, you will work closely with our customers and their departments who require automation.
What you will be doing
- Thoroughly learning all of our customer’s products and software who need test automation.
- Taking complete ownership of the quality of testing you do.
- Ideating, implementing, maintaining, and reinforcing high-quality standards leveraging reusability and scalability.
- Developing complex end-to-end automated testing solutions with integration in CI/CD environments.
- Creating and documenting detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test reports and plans to assess software quality.
- Executing quality, usability, regression, and performance testing on both front-end and back-end components.
Here’s what we’re looking for
- You have at least five years of experience designing, implementing, and running automated web and distributed systems tests.
- You have a solid understanding of traditional and context-driven testing processes, including various agile software development processes.
- Hands-on experience with automation testing frameworks for front-end and back-end components, such as Cypress, Playwright, Jasmine, Jest, Selenium IDE, and Postman.
- You care deeply about building a world-class engineering team.
- You are passionate about improving your skills and learning new technologies.
- You always advocate for technical excellence, and you are open to change.
- You’re resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills. You can validate your decisions and communicate them.
Bonus
- you have 3+ years of experience in Cypress automation
- you have experience in a SaaS product based company
- you are comfortable with Agile methods, such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum, and Kanban
- you have a working knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker
- living in Canada
